Control Creature

4th-level manipulation

Activation Time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

You attempt to mentally dominate a creature with an Intelligence of 3 or lower that you can see within range. It must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or be charmed by you for the duration. If the creature is in combat or threatened, it has advantage on the saving throw. While the creature is charmed, you have a telepathic link with it as long as the two of you are within 1 mile.

You can use your telepathic link to issue commands to the creature (no action required) for the duration, which it does its best to obey. You can specify a simple and general course of action, such as “attack that creature,” “move over there,” or “fetch that object.” If the creature completes the order and doesn’t receive further direction from you, it defends itself to the best of its ability.

You can use your action to take total control of the target. Until the end of your next turn, you know what the creature senses and the creature takes only the actions you choose and doesn’t do anything that you don’t allow it to do. During this time, you can also cause the creature to use a reaction, but this requires you to use your own reaction as well.

Each time the target takes damage, it makes a new Charisma saving throw against the power. If the saving throw succeeds, the effect ends.

At Higher Levels. When you activate this power using a higher level power slot, you can increase the Intelligence score of a creature you dominate by 2 points per power level. Alternately, you can increase the duration to concentration, up to 10 minutes at 5th level; concentration, up to 1 hour at 6th level; concentration, up to 8 hours at 7th level; concentration, up to 24 hours at 8th level; or 24 hours, no longer requires concentration at 9th level.

You can alternate these benefits, trading one for the other fluidly. For example, when activated at 7th level, you could affect a creature with an Intelligence score of 5 for a duration of concentration, up to 1 hour.
