Counteract Power

3rd-level manipulation

Activation Time: 1 reaction, which is taken when you see a creature within 60 feet of you activating a power
Range: 60 feet
Duration: Instantaneous

You attempt to interrupt a creature in the process of activating a power. If the creature is using a power with a power level of 3 or lower, the power fails and has no effect. If it is using a power with a power level requirement of 4 or higher, make a power ability check. The DC equals 10 + power’s level. On a success, the creature’s power fails and has no effect.

Special. While Counteract Power can be a power on its own, but it's often activated by spending a Hero Point and associated with a power suite such as Fiery Inferno or Telepathic Power. Even if this power is added to your power suite, Counteract Power can only be used to end powers which make logical sense within your power concept. Using your telepathy to counter Psychal Beam or Telepathic Switchboard makes sense. Using your control over fire to end an Ice Barrier or Ember Funnel makes sense. Using your telepathy to end an Ice Barrier does not make sense.

At Higher Levels. When you activate this power using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you automatically end the effects of powers on the target if the power’s level is equal to or less than the level of the power slot you used.
