Medical Community. You know the medical professionals of your city. You know at least one trustworthy person who is a medical specialist who will help you or your friends with medical needs without alerting the authorities. They may provide access to labs, or even lab results, if not called upon too often. You must remain in good standing to maintain your position. Your hospital or practice will demand that you be available at specific times.

Super-Science (Astonishing Disciplines). You have astonishing disciplines which grant you advanced science. When using an attack power you can add either your power ability or your Strength or Dexterity to the attack roll.

When a power ability is called for, you may use any logical ability score to determine the power DC, power attack, and power check modifier. You regain all expended power slots when you complete a long or short rest.

  • Field of Study (Chemistry): You begin play with access to a chemistry lab and with an expert colleague. Your expert colleague may be an assistant, a co-worker, a mentor, or a superior. He has the same field of study and may be contacted for assistance. You can gain this assistance in 1d4 hours or sooner by offering compensation (usually 1d4 x $50, but could be a return favor of like value). The GM may determine this is easier or more difficult based on the circumstances.

The expert colleague is an NPC and has all the skill and tool proficiencies required to work within your field and can use the help action on your behalf. The NPC has an Intelligence modifier of +3 and a proficiency bonus equal to your own.

Field Expertise. Choose two of your skill or tool proficiencies (or one of each) related to your field of study. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either of the chosen proficiencies. At 10th level, you can choose another two skill or tool proficiencies to gain this benefit.

Scientific Language. You know the scientific language of binomial nomenclature, the system in which two terms are used to denote a species of living organism, the first one indicating the genus and the second the specific epithet.
