Speedy Rescue

5th-level defense/movement

Activation Time: 1 reaction taken when you see a creature being attacked
Range: Self
Duration: Instantaneous

When you notice a creature other than yourself is being attacked, you can run to them and move them out of harm's way. Your path to the creature must be unobstructed and you must be able to reach them and a space outside of the attacks target area (for a melee or ranged weapon or power attack, this is an adjacent square). If the creature's weight exceeds 5 times your Strength score, your speed is reduced by 10 feet. If the creature's weight exceeds 10 times your Strength score, you cannot move them more than one space.

So long as you have movement left you can continue to rescue creatures, but all movement is subtracted from your speed for your following turn.

At Higher Levels. When activated with a power slot higher than 5th level, you gain additional benefits:

  • 7th level: As part of your reaction, you can use a bonus action which increases your speed. You lose your bonus action from your next turn.
  • 9th level: As part of your reaction, you can use an action which increases your speed. You lose your action from your next turn.
