Teleporting Catch

Activation Time: 1 reaction taken when a target in range is falling
Range: 60 feet
Duration: 1 round

You teleport to a falling creature within range and catch them, then immediately teleport again safely to the ground. If the creature is Medium or smaller in size and weighs less than 250 pounds, it takes no damage from the fall and lands in your arms or prone on the ground in an unoccupied, adjacent space.

If the target had already fallen more than 10 feet, the target takes half damage for any additional distance that it fell and deals the same damage to you if you catch it.

You lose your action on your following turn, though you may still use your Bonus Action if you have one.

At Higher Levels. When you trigger this power using a higher level power slot, you gain additional improvements:

  • 2nd-level. Your range increases to 80 feet.
  • 3rd-level. You can rescue up to two creatures falling within 10 feet of each other, but can only catch one.
  • 4nd-level. Your range increases to 100 feet.
  • 5th-level. You can rescue up to three creatures falling within 10 feet of each other, but can only catch one.
  • 6th-level. Your range increases to 120 feet.
  • 7th-level. You can rescue up to four creatures falling within 15 feet of each other, but can only catch one.
  • 8th-level. Your range increases to line-of-sight.
  • 9th-level. You can rescue up to six creatures falling within 20 feet of each other.
